I ran zoneminder for a while - it's good but doesn't have anywhere near the
features and quality of the Geovision s/w.

The faster Geovision cards basically allow higher frame rates to be
recorded across the cameras currently capturing. The software is exactly
the same apart from that - oh and the more expensive cards have audio/more
audio inputs.
