LOL, NOT the perfect solution anyway - nothing is ;)

I know what I said is quite negative, but I just want to highlight that it
may not be quite as good as it first seems to you.

I would *like* to keep DVD menus intact, but am not that bothered by it,
so this is not a big issue for me.
The lack of downmixing is, though there is a "solution" for now
in that
you can switch to the analog track if you want to listen to a movie in
another room (of course, the main room then reverts to stereo too).

The playlist support being poor is a pain, but not the end of the world -
I usually listen by album unless I am in a broswy kinda mood or want a
partymode type of thing....

If these are not issue for you either, then maybe the SC is the way to go
- any other solution you pick is bound to have other shortcomings you're
not happy with either.  I think you just need to decide what is/is not
important to you and go from there....but if you *do* find the perfect
player then let me know so I can buy one too ;)
