Re: 1TB Raid?

Hi chris,

I have recently built a 500gig Raid 5 array using the Promise=20
Supertrack (6Port IDE) card and 250Gig Maxtor Drives (3 off).

I went down the IDE route as Maxtor only offer 3 year warranties on=20
some of the IDE drives and they were only a couple of quid more=20
expensie than 1 year warranty non server drives through PC World.

So far working perfectly I have bunged the drives in Icy Docks to=20
keep them cool and although it's in 19" rack case with several
other=20
fans the noise isn't bad. Quiet CPU fan and Quiet PSU help a bit.

Have the headroom to go to 1.25TB should I ever need it

Cheers
