This is for all you hardware building junkies out there. I found some
Planar EL displays (nice yellow/orange pixels of high brightness) and
they are sunlight readable.

I have bought a few of these to play with. The 160 x 80 version I got
for $54 including shipping. The 320 x 240 version, 2 with touch screen I
got for $30 each plus $35 shipping.
These displays cost over £300 each from the likes of Farnell. The guy I
got the touch screen ones from, still has a few left.

Here is a link to a controller suitable to drive them. They only need
+12V and +5V for power. No negative voltage etc.
