Re: TV Charater Overlay - food for thought II

Hi everyone,

I have been following the discussion on this topic and given the
requirements for a relatively cheap yet flexible solution please allow me
to put forward an idea that I think would be worth considering.

Given the "perfect" OSD system that will match any given source
(be it RGB, composite or S-video), we will still be limited to one TV-based
information station. So here it comes:

How about looking into the potential of using existing PC-based Teletext
generator systems that will get an RF or composite feed and inject onto it
any information in the form of teletext information? In this way, all TV
sets in a house will be capable of displaying any data generated.

A Google search came up with lots of professional level solutions but also
came up with the following http://www.opt.com/encoder.htm

At 195 pounds for the baseband version I think it could be a solution worth
considering.

What do you all think?

Thanks
Thanos Agiannidis
