C-Bus dimmers, there are a few versions, are no more average than most
other dimmers and a whole lot better than some. I don't know what you mean
by "horrible propriety interface" either. The C-Bus lighting
protocol is
easily obtainable from Clipsal without NDA. Clipsal even provide the
necessary Windows and Linux drivers for third party software interfacing.

I disagree with the unreliable claim. An X-10 system can be very reliable
if it is planned correctly with the appropriate number of filters and
amplifiers. There are many substantial properties that use X-10. It was
only recently that we have supplied to an existing customer who wished to
continue to use X-10 in his newly acquired 5-bedroom May Fair property
with 300 lighting circuits. If X-10 is as unreliable as you have implied,
the customer would not be foolish enough to select it again.

What's happened to your Home Brain controller that you were showing in
UKHA 2003?
