I had it working for my apple airport and buffalo airstation access
point. Largely undocumented and the limited manufacturers
documentation that was airstation -> airstation or airport -> airport
was actually misleading when you try to go airport -> airstation.

wds is an emerging feature and not standard across manufacturers, but
as far as I know same manufacturer latest firmware should work.

I can try to help off list if you want, but I haven't used dlink ap's
and terminology varies.
