Wireless router & card recommendation

Hi All
I'm looking to buy another wireless card & router this week and
wondered
what pcmcia cards I should be looking at.
I think I'll go for a Vigor 2600VG router and a 54G wireless card, but does
it matter what make of wireless card I get???
I have used a Sparklan 54G card in the past and have always had problems
with it. It won't connect at 54Mbps, rather opting for 11Mbps, and often I
have to re-insert the card before the laptop recognises it.
