Pete,

for real bargains on designer gear or both men and women go to a department
store called century 21 ( no links to the uk estate agency chain) Its very
close to the WTC site. They have some really goods gear in there at
unbelievable prices.

For electrical gear the area arond Time Square is best, although I didnt
think there were any real bargains there.

A place that really surprised us was Grand Central Station. Its a fantastic
piece of architercture and stunningly beautiful. Make sure you look up,
you'll see what I mean.

Going at this time of year, if it is cold enough, you'll see the gratings
on
the street steam whenever an underground train goesthrough, just like it
does in the movies. I thought that was so cool when I first saw it, I's
always thought it was just some special effect put in the film:)

Dependant on finances, a helicopter trip is very worthwhile, but I think
it's about £160 each ( may be less though). You get to fly to the statue of
liberty, and back up to the double decker bridge ( name escapes me at the
moment) with some fantastic views of the New York skyline and central park.

I could go on, its a fantastic city and whatever you do you will have fun!
