If you want to be entirely confused by contradictory advice then go here,

No affiliation, or
neighbour troubles, I just googled for it but it looks mildly interesting.
Especially the part about if you have a CCTV with a 'video recorder' you
have to keep records of who changes the tapes and when. No mention of hard
disk storage etc.
