RE: TiVo & Netgem

This is so weird; I've just had another look, and there's definitely no
NetGem; there is a BT somethingorother, but that doesn't work.

I think I'm still being dim though; how do I tell TiVo that I'm using a
Freeview box, as opposed to Sky (the previous incumbent?) It still thinks
ITV2 is on ch175, which I guess isn't the case for Freeview.

I am using the BT Freeview box (a modified version of NetGem). TiVo has
the
setting for NetGem (get to it by selecting the set top box). I think I
told
it to send a leading 0, then 2 digits, then 'enter'. I don't remember
doing
anything special to get NetGem appearing on the TiVo options list... but
memory is hazy.

I do have a problem with the freeview box at the moment... it seems to lock
up on a regular basis (I always left it 'on' and did not put it into
'standby' (which allows it to run it housekeeping routines)). I have put a
manual timer on the mains into the box which turns it off at 0500 until
0505
each day. That seems to have cured the problem... or at least the problem
has gone away for now.

If you don't have any luck, then I can go through the notes / settings etc.
& see what I did to make it work.

Am I being dim (probably), or is NetGem not a supported STB on the TiVo
set
up? Gary Sergeant's site suggests that it is, but I had a quick go at
installing it last night, and there was no NetGem to select. Is anyone
else
successfully running the 2 together?

Thanks

Pete
