RE: Parcelforce fees

UPS do the same, though I think it's 'only' =A310. Basically the fee is to
cover the admin in recovering the Customs fees, and passing them back to
C&E.

I thought I'd ask about this here since a lot of you have order stuff from
the US -

I recently bought a telescope digital camera adaptor from the states.
Alon=
g
with the expected 17.5% VAT charge from customs, parcelforce added their
ow=
n
=A313.50 "handling" charge.

This seems a bit off to me - postage ($31) had been paid properly by the
company that sent the goods - I don't see why Parcelforce gets to charge
ye=
t
another fee, and effectively hold my goods to ransom to get it. It smells
like a scam to me.

The postage, VAT and this "fee" added another =A355 to the cost
of the item=
-
that wiped out a goodly chunk of the savings from buying overseas :-(

Anyone else get scammed like this? Does it seem unfair to you too?

Mal
