It's not so much the rendering of the HTML interface that's the problem -

t's more a case that for every screen update you need to create a 24-bit
64=
0x480 bitmap on the server, gzip it and send it over Ethernet for display
o=
n the MVP!
The RFB protocol that the MVP uses *should* support incremental updates,
wh=
ere you just update the bit of the screen that's changed, but it seems
that=
this feature hasn't been implemented in the MVP's firmware, as it always r=
equests a full update for every frame :-(

Absolutely!
IMO if you use the MVP with some decent software like xPLRioNet ;-) then

r =A319.99 you get a very good value network media player.
Generally the screen refreshes seem OK in xPLRioNet - however it does seem

slow when rendering thumbnails, though I think this may be a server-side
is=
sue.
And of course you will be able to use it to create custom home automation
m=
enus when full support is added to xPLRioNet for xPL OSD messages, so
you'l=
l be able to control just about any device that has xPL support from your
M=
VP's remote control.
