Yup - DLP is definitely the way to go. Whether you go for a "data
projector" (higher definition) or a video projector is really a matter
of budget.

Remember that LCD is a matrix, ie a set number of pixels across as
well as up/down, wheras DLP is line-based (like a CRT), so more of an
"effective" horizontal resolution than an absolute one.

I have also ended up with a Denon 3800. The only thing I've seen that
was noticeably better to me was the Meridian, at 5-6 times the price.
I continue to lust after it :-)

I've found that there is a lot of very good quality stuff available
second hand. Your local hi-fi dealer may have taken stuff as trade-in.
High-end stuff like Meridian typically holds its value well (even 10
year old will still be at about 50% of original price), but the next
tier down depreciates like a BMW :-)

The key metric is "brightness". Personally, I use a manual screen
(confessions of a non-automator.... gasp)

Blind or curtain? Personally, I went with heavy curtains :-)
