Saint - Gobain Glass solutions do something like that.

It is called SGG  Priva-lite

Basically it has a liquid crystal interlayer film. When a current is passed
through it, the liquid crystals are scattered. This has the effect of
turning the glass opaque.

This is what it says on the technical literature I have.

I personally have never used it.
