I presently use one of these,

http://www.lindy.com/uk/productfolder/04/42801/index.php

So I have USB from my node zero over a cat5 run to my living room.

I then go into a 4 port hub, from which I run a keyboard, mouse and
redrat.

Allows me to use my AV server PC in node zero on the projector in the
living room.

It is extremely trick. Especially running the Sky tv in a window on
the desktop so SWMBO does not kill me for stopping her from watching
beauty school, and I also don't disappear into the bowels of the
garage for hours while tinkering!

For the Printer end I have an EPSON 5900 network laser that cost
about 300 pound a few years ago, just replaced a toner cartridge now,
and wonder how I ever coped without it! I expect the equivalant now
is a 6200 at about 200 pounds!
