RE: NZ Phone Sockets



Hi Dan,

Surprisingly we use BT sockets - part of that colonial influence,
separation
anxiety stuff.

We changed to 2 wire system (still BT sockets) a couple of years ago. 
Prior
to that we had a 3 wire system (ring signal on the third wire).  Hence
depending on the age of the house you will have one or the other wiring
system.  Not sure what you use in the UK.  If you have two wire phones they
will work on both systems.  If you have 3 wire phones then you need to
modify either wiring or phone to get them to ring.
