I was toying with the idea of pulling recordings off TiVo and laying them
down on DVD via the network however, given the much better quality of the
direct bitstream recordings that I get on the Pace Twin Tuner PVR and the
Thomson DHD4000 then I wondered about one of the new HDD / DVD PVRs that
are
out there from the likes of Sony / Pioneer / Panasonic as "keeping it
digital" really does make one hell of a difference.
I'm finding it incredible that it appears that *NONE* of the current crop
of
HDD / DVD PVRs seem to have a built in freeview tuner (at least they don't
seem to list a freeview tuner on their specs webpages) - I know they'll
control an external STB but that still means that theres the Digital ->
Analogue -> Digital which is what cocks up TiVo's recording quality.
