Heh,

Being used to the monster UK mains plugs I always feel a little uneasy when
I see US plugs and leads

Okay I know it's 'only' 110VAC but it always seems to be connected using a
couple of paper fasteners and speaker wire ;)

Mind-you thinking back, my Nan used to plug an electric Iron into a light
fitting with what looked like twisted brown string and a broken light bulb!
