Hi Marc,

I would support the guys on the list, but being Scottish I look for
the cheapest option!!! :o)

My main PC is about 40ft from the last module but as there are other
modules closer, I assume it just relays the signal if it is poor. Not
sure how you could achieve this with your setup.

I found the same problem with the mesh based Zigbee system in that you
needed to have some units close to allow the transmission to be
received at the furthest point.

If the price comes down a little, I am sure that we will see more
systems being sold. Remember how expensive X10 was a few years ago but
now you can buy some modules for less than half price.

I am going to be moving overseas in a couple of months and I plan to
take my Zwave kit with me as I want to automate the new house. I may
even build a new house and install as much automation as I can. I am
moving to Indonesia and the prices over there are much cheaper than
here but also harder to get certain items imported. Need to get as
much here before I leave :o) One item I really want is the Sonos music
system as I was well impressed with Gareths system and wee short
video. Anything that is wireless is ideal for me these days as I can
not be bothered running cables any more :o)

Regards
Dave...

but I'm hoping it'll get better as I add more modules. My main problem
is that the Homeseer PC is in my Media room, an outbuilding. The media
room is about 40 feet from the main house, so I'm having trouble
getting the Z-Wave signal to make the jump.

limited at the moment. The lack of modules gives me a concern that we
might see Z-Wave fall out off the market, in the UK at least. Looking
forward to seeing some modules for use on internal lighting circuits,
e.g like the X10 LD11.
