I agree Mal. Allofmp3 is great - it is reasonably priced and you can
select
your own encoding rate and type. TBH at these prices the Do I/Don't I get
it illegally doesn't kick it - start by loading your account with $10 and
download whatever you like - by the time you have used up your $10 you will
be hooked. Legal. Great quality etc.

If you don't agree with DRM, then don't use iTunes.
