TiVo on the web

I've been using my TiVo on the net for some time now (using TCL v1.9.4).
It
works, for me, very well. I've never got around to putting a user and
password on it though and I'm scared one day it'll be discovered and
'hacked'. I've looked at doing this before and struggled with the
instructions. Can anyone help me set this up or point me at a good set of
step by step instructions please?
