It is "reasonably" quiet. - but what's reasonable!?

There is CPU large fan that is speed controlled. It comes on at full speed

when the PC is powered up, and it makes an almighty rush, but it spins
down=
to a lower speed almost instantly (after about a second), at which point i=
t is audible, but not what I would call loud.

It's tricky to say just how intrusive it is, since my parents have their
PC=
in the kitchen, and there is invariably some other noise-making activity g=
oing on... (Usually by my young nephews!)

Of course, I imagine it would be possible to further quieten it down if
nec=
essary with the usual application of hush kits etc....
