Are you sure it uses the IP address Neil?
Googling for "diyha site:uk" returns my website as top of the
list and
it is sitting on a server in Houston.
I think that "site:whatever" works purely on the domain name so
anyone
with a dotCom address will be excluded from a UK search irrespective
of where the server is located.
Then again, I could be wrong :-)
