Are they all quad Opterons? :P

Can't comment on this now since it's no longer installed...

You are correct about car manufacturers having ipod installs as options
but if you take the time to have a look, they're all pretty much half arsed
installs - not very impressive at all - here's a bit of cable and stuff it
in your
glove box. Give me an 'ipod in-dash socket' and i *might* possibly think
about it...
but I'm not going to buy a car based on if it has an ipod doofer in it.
Now if there
were in dash pods by default, then it'd be a different matter...

However, I'd go for simple basic, user enabled technology any day over
propriatory
stuff that forces me to do things the way one set of people think it should
be done
and locks me down - besides I found itunes was just sh*t anyway. Quite
frankly they
can stuff their DRM up their tailpipes and while other options exist I'll
use them. I'm
happy to pay for my music, but once I have - it's mine (figuratively) and
they can keep their
grubby paws off it and my PC.

I'm happy with my ipod shuffle, especially now that I don't have to use
itunes to get
the best out of it.

Very true, there are lots of bits n pieces which in itself confuses the
bejebus out
of me.. there are so many ipods and accessories you'll need a suitcase to
carry
them all ;)
