House Rewiring (Data and Power)

I've been off the list for quite some time, so apologies if I've
missed anything.  Fortunately, things are now slowing down again, and
the pending purchase of a new home promises lots of HA fun.  This
time, I'll do it properly!  I've got a couple of months to start
planning, so here goes my first area to tie up.  The house will need
rewiring, so I want to ensure I get everything right first time.
Last time, I didn't get the front room done, which scuppered nearly
every project I attempted!

Firstly, power cabling.  I think it would be sensible to wire the
lighting to a single point, so I can replace automation units as/when
required.  How have people done this?  Have you run a seperate ring
to each light, and terminated all the rings at a central location?
Basically, I'd like to be able to (for example) run LD11s, and later
upgrade to CBUS without having to lay more cables.  The cabling I do
must cover every possibility.  I won't start another X10 vs CBUS
thread here!

Secondly, there's the data/signal cabling.  I'll need Ethernet,
audio, video, low voltage power, and IR for starters.  No doubt
serial connections will appear at some point too.  I'd say all that
can be covered by CAT5, coax, and speaker cable.  POE adapters can
sort out my power requirements over CAT5 where unexpected, though I
will run some power cable for 12vdc at each outlet.

My current thoughts on what to run are as follows....

Lounge:
2x CAT5, speaker and 1x 12vdc to each corner
6x CAT5, 1x 12vdc and 1x Coax to possible TV locations

Dining Room:
2x CAT5, speaker and 1x 12vdc to each corner
2x CAT5, and 1x Coax to possible TV locations

Sun lounge:
2x CAT5, 2x speaker, and 1x 12vdc

Downstairs bathroom:
2x CAT5, 2x speaker, and 1x 12vdc

Kitchen:
4x CAT5, 1x speaker, and 1x 12vdc to each corner

Hallway:
1x CAT5 and 1x 12vdc at each end

Landing:
1x CAT5 and 1x 12vdc at each end

3x Bedrooms:
1x CAT5, 1x speaker, and 1x 12vdc to each corner
2x CAT5, and 1x Coax to possible TV locations

Bathroom:
4x CAT5, 2x speaker, 1x coax, and 1x 12vdc

What have I missed?  Finally, what's recommended for the audio side
of things?  I'm thinking about an amplifier hidden somewhere, on a
switchable power supply, and speaker cable from that to the speakers
in each room.  That way, the speakers in each room could be turned
on/off, so sound could be on in one room, and not another.  Would I
be better off trying to locate the amplifier in the room (shorter
speaker cables), or locating them all centrally (better
maintenance)?  Answers on a postcard....
