If only... You pay per byte for GPRS, and that includes all the TCP/IP
overheads (in both directions) involved in transferring a 12k image from
a web/wapserver. By their very nature, GPRS links probably drop quite a
lot of packets, so it could be a fair amount more than 12k worth of
traffic (seemed that way when I tried collecting significant quantities
of email by mobile once). At least MMS costs are fixed...
