I'd considered flashing lights and may end up using that solution. The
sort of processing I had in mind was to run something like the 'secure
mode' macro that you use. It would be triggered either by someone
manually leaving the house and operating a switch (or maybe a limited
version doing downstairs lights only going to bed early) or if there has
been no user x-10 action (this is where the HDM1s come in) and it is
dark (I have a SD533 sundowner) starting the routine itself.

I'm not sure yet which software to go for - I may end up downloading
trials of both. I asked in December for suggestions as to which to use
and later on another thread some pointed out a review of X10 software in
the latest copy of windows XP magazine but sadly the sealed copy I
bought didn't have the review.

Anyone any comments?
