I raised the same question of a guy on ebay selling Skype USB phones. It
would appear that there are specific drivers to use the keypads within each
application. If you just want a USB audio in the shape of a phone then most
(if not all) should work OK. This is a bit of a shame as there was a cheap
box which would let you use a PSTN phone (including cordless) as the USB
audio and keypad dialler, but the keypad dialler was written by them and
Skype specific.
If you find a decent one that will work with anything on the FWD network,
please share it as I have (in true UKHA style !!) built a custom box to
switch my audio output between the external speakers and a
"helpdesk" style
headset, but I'll need something more SWMBO friendly for her PC.
