Banana recepticals will frequently leave an exposed conductor, which around
pro
audio areas would be considered unsafe, it only takes one overly picky
inspector
and you will have to change them for something regarded as safe, speakons
are
designed to have both connectors rated to some hidiously high voltage (70
or 110
volt line I think) so that you are safe from an overly cautious inspector.
The other issues is that some banana plugs just have a floating ring with
the
springyness on a pin, and they dont often go in and out too well. All in
all,
the banana is a plug best left to pre-war and test equipment where currents
are low.

I was meaning to put a plug on the able that goes to the unterminated end
at
node 0 so you can just plug it in when you remove the local amplifier.
