Hi Martin

I've used a couple of these in Work

The only difference is Size and so lack of Din Mounting

Otherwise once mounted it acts the same -BUT with 5A:-)

I'm not so sure about the bus coupler

It gives you all the normal stuff dimmer, timer, soft up , on/off, bell
push etc etc

Yes it works out cheaper

But if you have any need for indication of the state of the switch then
go for the E2000 for cheapness

Also to get any form of clever control you would need a software
package

Where as the expensive intelligent switches well they have their own
scenes

CBus doesn't work the same as the LD11

The switch activates the level you have preset

You can then alter that by dimming

It's more about setting scenes and levels then selecting them on
different switches or Software buttons

Hope this helps

Mike

Subject: [ukha_d] Clipsal questions

I need to get dimmers for another 4 circuits in the house.
Despite having a dozen LD11 dimmers elsewhere in the house I think I'll
go for Clipsal instead.
I looked into it a year ago, but never bit the bullet!!

So some quick questions before purchasing...

I was looking at the L5504D2A 4-Channel Dimmer, 220V AC, 2A, with power
supply,
but now I see there is now another dimmer L5104D5: 4 Channel Dimmer,
240V AC, 5A, with power supply
Anyone using this newer one? 2A per circuit is sufficient, but are
there any other differences in functions?
I can see that you get 5A per channel and it's larger...

The circuits are in separate rooms so just single gang switches
I was looking at a bus coupler to allow use of ordinary Clipsal
momentary switches.
Is there any great functional loss buy going this route, rather than
using the intelligent switches??
One of the four circuits is a tiny loo, so perhaps I can have a
movement sensor and no switch?

Last question...with cbus can I set some circuits to come on a maximum
brightness, despite their previous setting? This is the opposite of the
newer LD11 and in some areas for me this would be better.

Thanks,

Martin
