Work on the assumption that one engine can fail at any time (that's
what the aircrew does). There is a point in the take-off roll
(called V1) after which the pilot will take off even with a failed
engine - quite simply 'cos he has insufficient runway left to
stop.......

Once up there, he would probably want to land again fairly soon -
but the aircraft will be heavy 'cos of all the fuel in the tanks so
soon after take-off so he will need a longer than normal runway....
so he might keep going for quite a way.

He can glide at an angle of about 1 in 20. So, say all the engines
die at 37,000 feet. That is just over six miles high. So he can
glide for about 120 miles ... and should be able to find a decent
runway nearer than that!

Just enjoy the flight!!
