Same here. In fact the BB buzzes before my laptop goes ping, so it is true
push, though there are 3 or 4 other products out there that do the same
(and
more) than BB, plus they're platform independent.

The BB business model is getting interesting; they're starting to lose
market share to competing products because the BB platform is tied to a
very
specific range of handsets. However, BB make 70% of their revenue from the
RIM handsets, so they're caught in a catch 22 - if they open their s/w for
other platforms, then everyone will by PDAs to run it on, and BB still
won't
make any money. The alternative is to keep the h/w more or less
proprietary, and then they lose market share. No wonder they're in a
mucking fuddle about where to go next, hence all the legal wranglings with
Nokia and co about the half-arsed BlackBerry Connect offering. BlackBerry
as a company is worth more than Vodafone, yet with a tiny subscriber base
by
comparison. nice business, but popular opinion seems to suggest they're
about to lose their first-mover advantage.

Pete

I don't claim to know a lot, and it might be something to do with the
config on our org's Blackberry enterprise server (which I aint had
anything to do with) , but sitting at my desk, Outlook pops up and
Blackberry vibrates simultaneously, certainly without an up to 3 mins
delay.
