The problem I always had with the XDA (aside from rubbish battery life and
constant crashing) was it's ability (or lack thereof) to hold the GRPS
connection, and more importantly to re-establish it when it lost it. 
People
either seem to love or hate the XDAs, I fall into the latter camp, whereas
I
think the Treo is great, yet lots of people don't like them either.

They don't support 'Push Mail'  However you can configure the interval
at which your pop3 is polled for messages down to 1 minute. I did not
know that about Blackberry devices though so that goes some way as to
explaining why people like them.

LOL, I'm currently using an Orange M1000 (the one without the keyboard,
whatever that's called in XDA terms) and a Blackberry, since the XDA
devices don't currently support push mail (unless someone wants to
correct me :)

I feel like Batman though carrying all this kit! (just glad I don't have
to pay for it!)
