Yes, perhaps 'hackable' was not the correct phrasology. Customizable may be
better :)

As an NSI firm we generally keep away from alarms that that customer gets
to
play with too...

The Powermax+ does look very inviting however -  we have a development of
just over 400 units all newly built that the developer decided against
prewireing, now they are looking at offering a wireless system and this
falls into that category very nicely.

We're not interested in the X10 and other functionality, just a good
reliable wireless alarm, which Visonic do very well.

Just wondering how hackable you want an alarm panel to be!

Just think what the insurance claim would look like......

"well the burglars hacked into my HA system over the internet, opened
my
gates and garage door turned off the alarm and drove in a panel van which
they proceeded to fill with the entire contents of my house!"

The manufacturers of the VP1000 are preparing their new panel for release
it
has inbuilt Web Server and Ethernet connectivity, so guessing that should
be
'hackable' for HA purposes.
