For a little background...

You are much better off mucking around with rc.sysinit.author than with
rc.sysinit directly... If you forget to make rc.sysinit executable, your
tivo won't boot...

Think of rc.sysinit as 'autoexec.bat', and it has a line at the end that
runs rc.sysinit.author.
