low-quality cctv audio over cat5

  • Subject: low-quality cctv audio over cat5

hi,

I've got a cctv camera in the porch, it's one of those cheapo ones from
aldi a few months ago. it has b&w video and 2-way audio.

having recently totally rewired, I now have structured cat5 wiring
around the house, and a fair bit of coax as well.

I can run the video over coax, but I also want to be able to take the
2-way audio.

I have some cat5 by the door I can use, what's the best way of doing
this?

bearing in mind the audio is just to speak/listen to someone at the door
(over the built in mic/speaker in the camera), can I just solder a
couple of audio connectors to a cat5 plug and run it directly over cat5?
if not, what is the best way to do this?

thanks
john
