I'll try this tonight for you.  I doubt it though as it's a proprietary
system as far as I know.

Do you really see this as a risk?  I suppose it might be but surely its
minuscule.  Why would anyone bother trying to get the Sonos mesh protocol,
presumably hack a Zone Player to receive it etc etc, when there are lots of
open WAPs that are much easier fodder, round each corner.

I have one zone downstairs and one upstairs all working fine.

That's probably the most major issue, although as someone pointed out on
IRC
today, not many people have the 2,500 CDs ripped that you need to get to
that 30,000 track figure.

My first post to the Sonos forums was asking about running the software to
index my tracks before the units arrived.  Turns out the ZonePlayer
actually
index the tracks itself and the 30,000 is presumably a limitation of its
memory.

However, the advantages are speed of browsing the collection, and the lack
of the requirement for PC running server software (so a ZP can read
straight
from a NAS box).

Nothing is perfect, but I really am blown away with this thing.
