Not my experience, but I guess things would be worse in cities.  Ours is
currently tuned to 87.9 (the factory pre-set I think), and that's fine from
Colchester to Heathrow, via the M25.  If I turn it off the other 'stuff'
can
be heard, but there's no bleed when it's on.  Conversely, I struggle to get
Capital in several places on the M25, so I know my tuner isn't very
sensitive, but maybe having the aerial built into the screen actually
benefits the iTrip (but not normal reception).

As an aside, I think the logic behind the iTrip is very clever; using a
playlist of tuning codes to retune it is an inspired idea (if a little
fiddly), and the fact it turns on & off with the iPod (and charges from
it)
is a great idea; my iRock never did that, and had flat batteries all the
time as a consequence.

To make matters worse, that means you have to constantly re-tune them when
driving around.

I would suggest getting a pioneer head deck and making use of the aux in on
the
back of it. Some panasonics have RCA sockets for it, and I have seen some
JVCs
with a 3.5mm socket on the faceplate.
