We decided to do away with Blackberries in our company becuase we
were using the Vodafone webmail service with desktop redirector and
this just had too many problems. Instead of opting for the BES I
decided to go with this product.
http://www.smartner.com/products/index.html
(no affiliation etc.)
We are using the enterprise edition with 47 users so far, rolling
out another 50+ soon. The handhelds we use are, Motorola MPX220,
Qtek 9090 and iJam (PPC with GSM), Nokia 9300 and Sony 910i which
all double as phones too.
We run Exchange 2000 and it works like a dream!!
All email and calenders are instantly pushed out / updated. Much,
much better than Blackberries.
The software has a push-connector back-end which can run on the
exchange server or a dedicated PC. This then shadows exchange
activity for registered users and communicates with smartner middle-
ware servers which then push out to devices over gprs.
There are signle user versions for sale on Handango.com. The
subscription is $5 a month.
We have been very pleased with results and the users love it.
