Price - cost me about ?250 UK pounds once imported - that is without disks.
Where from: http://www.starline.de/en/index.html
A german company, but they are good. I wired the funds over (bank transfer)
on a Friday and had the unit the following weekend.
It does exactly what it says on the tin - it is a good box, has a huge fan
on the back to keep the five disks cool. The only issue was power, I had to
upgrade my 300watt PSU to a 600watt PSU, but then when you are adding 5 x
300gb disks, is anyone surprised.
The internal interface to the disks is PATA (as it is now called), external
either SATA, PATA or both. One interesting feature, you can partition the
system to be two disks, one presented on the PATA interface and one on the
SATA interface.
It will do RAID 10, 5, 1 or JBOD and does support a hot spare.
I am using the SATA interface and have a single 1tb (approx) disk.
If funds allowed, I would buy a second unit.
