RE: Roomba

They're pretty good, certainly more than just for show. Ideally a Roomba
does the job for 90% of the time, but it's worth getting a 'normal' vacuum
out every month or so to get the spots that Roomba misses (so I'm told). It
can handle all your floor coverings, just watch out for rugs with tassels,
as Roomba will try to eat them.

Having just moved to the US and having to buy a lot of new electronics
(yeah, I know, it is such a hardship) I need to purchase a new vacuum
cleaner (note that the HDTV was ordered first, followed by the new DVD
player ;) and was consider getting a Roomba 4210 Discovery.

Are Roomba any good as vacuum cleaners or are they just for show? The
apartment I have is has 2 living rooms with hardwood floors, 2 bedrooms
(carpeted), kitchen is lino (or something like that) and the hall is tile.

Thanks,

Steve
