Specific Dimmers for use with LD11

Hiya Chaps,

Been finishing the low voltage garden lighting at the moment, and
naturally
will be adding it to the X10 network. Basically its three circuits of 12v
lights, 4 x 20w on 2, and a further 2 x 20 on the third. The
transformers
which you can buy with the light system from B&Q are clearly toroidal,
however have various additional circuitry in them, so I am unsure of their
ability to dim using an LD11.

So, I was planning to buy three new transformers (each to be dimmed by a
separate LD11), and am therefore trying to decide whether to stick with
Toroidals which I know work with LD11's, or go with electronic
transformers.

The garden lighting is cabled over about 20m per circuit, how well to the
electronic dimmers cope with long cable lengths (someone told me they don't
perform as well as toroidal's)??

Can anyone recommend any good electronics which don't break the bank and
work well with LD11?

Specifically, anyone used the Osram Halotronic Mouse electronic dimmers
with the LD11??

Many thanks,

Simon
