Re: Projector advice

You absolutely MUST get dems of the projectors you're looking for!=20
Rainbow affects some people, doesn't affect others, some like myself
originally didn't see it but now I see it so often, even on =A34K+
projecto=
rs,
that I can't watch DLP. Actually I can watch DLP, but it must be 3 chip DLP
PJs at =A310K +
EEK!
Rainbow is one of those things where even if you don't conciously see it
doesn't mean it isn't bothering you. On your demos, use dark scenes with
fa=
st
movement of light objects - Star Wars 3 is good - and look at the objects
edge furthest from direction of movement - IE if the object moves right to
left, look at right edge of object. If you can watch this type of scene for
10s of minutes on end, with no eye-strain, no headache, then even if you
se=
e
the odd rainbow you should (!) be OK.
It is important if there are others who will watch the PJ often - children
=
or
partner - that they see it too. My missus doesn't see it, my daughter does
but isn't affected, I see it all the time and can't stand it.
Bit of a bummer when I sell them!
On the other hand, LCD is getting damn good now, but you still need a

dem...

I wouldn't worry too much about the "rainbow effect" that was
quite
noticeable on early DLP projectors ... I used to notice it very easily but
on newer models (that have the double speed colour wheel) - most recently a
Sim2 Domino 20H - I can't even provoke the effect on purpose.
