I've just (yesterday) bought a very similar screen from Vibrant
(www.vibrantepos.co.uk) on the same basis.

They are actually TVS units re-badged, very sturdy and "feel"
like they are
worth £300!! Excellent touch screen accuracy.

15" was £300+VAT, 12" £360 and 10" £300, so I agree with the
mass market logic
here.

Gareth,

£375 - which I think is an OK price since the screens are good quality with
very wide viewing angles. The inbuilt speakers and picture frame mounting
are a bonus too. I was going to get a similar screen made by CTX, however
I
found out that the touchscreen was not fitted during manufacture - they are
fitted to a standard CTX screen by CTX in the UK.

Also, since EPOS type systems are the biggest users of touchscreens in the
UK the price is sensible. Why pay £1500+ for a small screen that has low
manufacturing volume and aimed at the home automation market when you can
get a 15" EPOS screen and £200 PC (assuming you can find somewhere to
hide
it).

BTW the 12.1" screen was the same (or similar) price

Regards

Simon
