Chris,

Has the system been installed by a professional? It sounds like it
has if you want to get the cover off.

I would use Comfigurator to do what you are asking - while it is not
the most user-friendly piece of software in the world - it is a lot
easier than the voice menus. (although you will still need the
passcode to send or receive anything from the unit). I have the
Ethernet connection UCM in mine, if you have this or the serial
connection you will still need to get in the box to connect up,
unless the installer left a handy lead hanging out of the box.

One point about fettling with the unit is that it may invalidate the
NACOSS approval it may have. This states that no internal or major
control components should be accessible or adjustable by the home
owner (or any non-NACOSS approved people). In our case - no NACOSS,
no contents insurance. I ended up with two alarms because of this!

I can't remeber off-hand how to do what you are asking, but for a
complete set of manuals (without having to register) go to the
manufacturers website at

It may be worth asking the Comfort-Technical Group for the answer
to your specific question. There are lots of professional alarm
installer types on there, but also helpful amateurs.
