DECT phone advice wanted...

  • Subject: DECT phone advice wanted...

I'm after a set of around 3 DECT phones as my current ones are really
poor... and I'm being bugged by my mum for Xmas presents that she can at
least 'understand and buy from a real shop' ;-)

I would rather get something that costs a little more and that works
well and has the features I need. Has anyone a real world recommendation
for something that would have the following features, roughly in
order... the last line brings it back OT for HA use ;-)

Large and simple keyboard interface - with as few buttons as possible
Large, clear easy to read screen (colour not required but is an advantage)
(avoiding having to find glasses to make a call)
Simple/intuitive to use for non tech people
CallerID
Good audio quality
Phone book that can be centrally maintained and supplied across handsets
(ideally with a PC based connection / editor as well ) - if individual
handsets can add personal extra contacts that's even better
Handsets must feel to be good quality and shouldn't be 'tiny/cute'
Call history

Extra features that would be nice:

Message Waiting indicator (LED) support for using BT1571
Support SIM card storage of tel contacts to synch with phone
Built in answerphone with recordable voice message
Two lines
Ideally extra headsets will work with the DECT repeaters as one base
doesn't cover my home.
SMS
PC connection
Skype
Bluetooth
Anything that aids in HA use or adds great features without impacting
the ease of use from handsets, a PC USB/Serial connection would be
really nice , particularly if it offered CID or telephone ans machine
events.
