Can=92t recall the depth but if you have somewhere to hide the transformer
then the led fittings discussed under the stair lights thread might work. I
don=92t know how well they would stand up to the steam and you would
probab=
ly
need to replace them all due to the different colour of the light, but as
Tim says they are decking lights and should stand a bit of hardship. They
come in several sizes as well.

Unfortunately depth is a big issue =96 as they=92re in shelves you only

about 22mm depth to play with, ruling out all of the recessed shower

Could consider LEDs but they would need to fit in the compact format.



Funnily enough I had a load of daisy-chained compact fluorescents in my
las=
t
kitchen and all the bulbs went twice in the first 18months =96 eventually
Ryness (I think it was) replaced all the fittings as a bad batch with ones
similar to the TLC ones which worked well.



Looks like I=92m just unlucky =96 best stay out of the kitchen :-)

Our kettle is situated like yours, although it is at the end of the run of
wall units so I do try to direct the spout out from underneath the
cupboards. However, my under-cupboard lights are slim-ish fluorescents

the row of units. We have 6-8 of these lights around the kitchen (they link
together a bit like the LED strips recently discussed) and in 5 years I
think I've only replaced one tube, and that wasn't near the kettle.=20

Have you got the depth to hide LED deck lights? These would be rated for
outdoor use, so may survive a bit better than regular cabinet lights.
