RE: [OT] What do I need ?
Darren
If the Cat 5 outlets are unused all you need to do is make/acquire several
RJ45 to BT connectors, which will allow you to patch the phone lines across
your CAT5e infrastructure, however if the outlets are in use then you can
run the phone extension with the LAN connection using wires 4 & 5 or 7
& 8
are not in use on 100 Base-t, so you can run LAN + 2 phone lines over one
CAT 5e cable. see

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] What do I need ?
Hi All,
I have a second line which I'm about to have the new BeThere 24Mbit service
installed on (review to come in a couple of weeks!) and the telephone
socket
is in my living room next to my Cat 5 outlets.
What I want to be able to do is to have the router installed where my patch
panel and switch is under the stairs. What bits do I need to enable this.
Also, I have 2 Sky digiboxes which are NOT connected to a telephone line
and
Sky are threatening me that if I don't connect them to a telephone line
within the next 14 days they will start charging me the full wack instead
of
the discounted price for a 2nd digibox. As these are also next to some Cat
5
outlets what would I need to connect them to my other telephone line which
is also under the stairs?
TIA
Darren
