"Do you provide any feedback to register the boost request?"

Depends on your boiler - We're Oil fired, and the reassuring sound of it
kicking into life reverberates around the house and gives plenty of
feedback
;-)

I have a simple panel in the hall that has 4 leds and 2 switches.
http://www.eatworms.org.uk/ha/HeatingControl3.JPG

Left hand is for Hotwater, Right for Heating
1 led for "on". 1 led for "Boost". Press the switch to
toggle on/off state.
Press and Hold for +1Hr

(Leds at the bottom right are repeaters of comfort state LEDs)

All the logic is via Comfort. So whether the request for +1Hr comes from
Pronto (via X10) or the switches (Comfort Inputs) the same comfort response
is called and the leds light accordingly (via Comfort Outputs)

I was thinking of something similar but with X10 appliance modules
inplace of the Comfort and relays but after Ian's comments on the
current sensing feature of appliance modules it looks like I'll
still need the relays.

I like the idea of the Pronto controlled boost though. Is that all
Comfort controlled? Do you provide any feedback to register the
boost request? I can imagine 'er indoors pressing the button half a
dozen times to make sure something happens otherwise !!!
